Magic 401: Projection and Agitation
As a priest, anyone in your community deeply agitated by your presence is someone in whom their lwa are surfacing issues for you to help them work on. The lwa will even point it out, though the kind of agitation people express is not easy to miss. They hate you, imagining persecution and casting you as the devil in their private drama. They can’t sit still, their faces telegraphing disgust, discomfort, and any negative emotion you could possibly want. Arms crossed, legs turned away, every possible body language that communicates their emotional turmoil.
Yet, especially where the spirits are involved, they cannot quite leave you alone. If they aren’t talking to you directly, you might as well live in their minds for the amount of thinking, gossiping, swearing, and talking about you that they do. It is as if you are constantly walking beside them, needling them.
The lwa are driving them toward you, and whatever negative entities are with them do not want you near them, doing any healing work. Both sets of spirits are at work, the negative entities torturing them and the lwa constantly bringing you up. A priests’ presence is going to agitate negative entities, and the priest with the capacity and permissions to work on whatever connection they have with the person is going to agitate those negative entities even more.
However, that priest also is a conduit for the positive energies and presence of the lwa that soothe them, so that agitated person is going to instinctively seek them out, no matter how their consciousness might feel about that priest. The word ‘torture’ is an accurate descriptor of the sensations a negative entity will inflict, and while it won’t necessary be physical (it can be, and headaches are common), it is still not an enjoyable experience.
When a priest interacts with a community, this is one of the signs they are looking for to know which person will be next in to be worked on. That agitation is very consistent, though the person might be trying to hide it through avoidance or an appearance of coldness which cannot quite mask the discomfort underneath it. The more someone gossips, argues, goes out their way to try and reject, the more obvious the issue/s they will need to be working on become, served up to the priest intended to work on it, though anyone in a position of authority will get some of the energy being spent on resistance. It tends to ‘splash’ on anything it can as the person tries to get rid of their discomfort.
In a way, that projection and agitation is a good sign. Issues and attachments to negative entities being surfaced by the lwa in the person’s spirit are being surfaced because they can change. The person can be healed and is in the presence of someone who can heal them.
Being a priest means being the subject of near constant projection and agitation, which gives away with the work into relief. It gives way into elevation, healing, and growth.
It’s hard to be too troubled by anything that ends in elevation, healing, and growth.
